Making final decisions on a property management software platform can be tough. There are a lot of factors to consider, including pricing, features, and customer support.

Two popular options right now are Innago and RentRedi. But when comparing the two, who comes out on top?

Pricing

This is a top consideration for most landlords, so let’s explore exactly how the pricing works for both platforms.

RentRedi has three payment options. The first is a monthly payment option at $19.95 per month. Next is the 6-month payment option, where you pay for six months at a time for $90. Finally is the annual payment option, which is the most economical at $108 per year.

Innago, on the other hand, doesn’t have any sort of payment option. Believe it or not, Innago is completely free to use. Innago makes its money by charging tenants small fees for various services, including a $2 fee for rent payments made through ACH, a 2.75% fee for payments made with credit or debit cards, $30 to $35 dollars for a tenant screening report depending on the package, and price-varying renters insurance policies that can be purchased on the platform.

While both platforms are among the most affordable on the market, you can’t beat software that’s free.

Key Features

Pricing isn’t the only thing to consider. You want to ensure that your platform provides you with all the features you need.

Here’s a list of Innago’s features:

  • Online leasing, digital signatures, status tracking, and unlimited file storage on the Cloud
  • Online rental payments through ACH, credit card, and debit card payment, with autopay available and single-business-day funds delivery
  • Custom applications and tenant screening, including a customizable application builder and criminal, credit, and eviction history reports through TransUnion
  • Tenant maintenance request portal with the ability to upload pictures and videos, work order tracking, and ticket forwarding to maintenance personnel
  • Automated payment reminders, tenant communication tools, email templates, and archives
  • Automated invoices, recurring billing, automated late fees, and receipt and image storing
  • Listing syndication and advertising capabilities
  • Financial tracking and reporting

Here’s a list of RentRedi’s features:

  • Landlords can prepare their own lease documents and upload them to be signed digitally
  • Rent payments can be made online using an ACH transfer, credit or debit card, or cash at over 90,000 retail locations
  • Credit, criminal, and eviction history reports through TransUnion
  • In-app push notifications to renters, maintenance request tickets and rent reminders
  • A landlord dashboard which manages rent and late fees and sends out reminders
  • Accounting features through partnership with REI Hub at an extra charge
  • Listing syndication to partner sites Realtor.com and Doorsteps.com
  • Dashboard to upload photos, create virtual tours, and manage listings and showings
  • Financial reports from REI Hub including profit and loss (P&L) statements, cash flow statements, balance sheets, and tax-ready Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Schedule E reports

Overall, the features offered by both platforms are largely the same. On Capterra’s measure of features in general, RentRedi scored 4.4 stars and Innago scored 4.8.

Customer Support

If you ever run into problems or have questions about the platform, it’s nice to have dependable customer service.

RentRedi and Innago offer practically the same customer support features. These Include phone support, email support, live chat, informational blog articles, training videos, and webinars.

One of the nice things about Innago is that each account is assigned a specific representative for customer support. You can also almost always reach someone after hours, and if you can’t talk to someone immediately, a team member will always get back to you within a couple of hours.

RentRedi and Innago both scored highly on Capterra for Customer support at 4.9 out of 5 stars. Innago also scored a 4.9 on TrustPilot, whereas RentRedi scored a 3.0, as many reviews talked about poor user experience and issues with payments.

Simplicity

Because not all landlords and tenants are tech geniuses, you want a platform that’s simple to use. Innago and Rentredi’s scores for ease of use on Capterra are 4.8 and 4.4 respectively. Innago has received overwhelmingly positive reviews talking about how intuitive and easy-to-navigate the platform is. RentRedi’s feedback is slightly less positive, with multiple reviews saying that there’s too much information to memorize, making things confusing.

Conclusion

When comparing Innago vs RentRedi, there are several things to consider. Overall, though, Innago has the edge because of its lower price (or lack thereof) and its favorability among landlords.

On Capterra, 87.9% of reviewers said they were likely to recommend RentRedi, whereas 97.3% of reviewers said they’d recommend Innago. While both metrics are fairly high, it’s easy to see the winner.
