There has been increased competition in the slot machine industry in recent years. Bally Gaming Systems owned approximately 90 per cent of the market in the 1970s. It is, therefore, most likely that if you played a slot machine during that time, it was one made by Bally. Slot machine manufacturers now number well over a dozen, including websites that offer slots for online casinos but pg is always considered as the best. This is not an exhaustive list of the biggest names in traditional slot machine manufacturing, but it is a sample of some of the most well-known.
AC Coin and Slot Machines
The company was founded in Pleasantville, New Jersey, in 1978. I had no idea Pleasantville was a real town until I saw Reese Witherspoon and Tobey Maguire in Pleasantville. Although parts of the Garden State seem pleasant, I did not think it was in New Jersey. Even though AC Coin & Slot started building slot machines around the same time gambling was legalized in New Jersey, they are now the exclusive distributor of International Game Technology slots in Atlantic City, in addition to selling their own.
Corporation of Aruze
A Japanese company that manufactures slot machines and other products. Nevada, New Jersey, and Mississippi are licensed to manufacture and distribute slot machines. Founded in Las Vegas, Aruze Gaming America is a 100%-owned subsidiary of Aruze Gaming.
Atronic Americas
Unlike what you would expect, it is not located in the United States, Central America, or the Caribbean. The company is German. Atronic Deutschland didn’t sound good to them. I like the sound of it. Whatever the case, the company was founded in 1994 and has grown to become the third-largest manufacturer of slot machines worldwide.
The Bally Gaming System
One of the first big boys on the scene. In 1968, it launched the first multi-coin slot and the first video multi-coin slot under Bally Technologies. Bally still has a dominant position in the industry, even though they don’t have a stranglehold like they used to. There is no connection between them and Bally Total Fitness.
International Game Technology (IGT)
As the world’s largest slot machine manufacturer, IGT is based in Reno, Nevada, home of Lieutenant Jim Dangle and his fine deputies. A ticketed system called EZ-Pay was created and popularized wide-area progressive slots.
Gaming by Konami
Known best for creating arcade and Nintendo games played worldwide, and this division deals with gambling. Konami is awesome, isn’t it? They created Castlevania. There is no need to say more. Slot machines have been manufactured by this company since 1973 but have only been distributed in the United States since 2003. There are now licensing agreements with Nevada and several tribal governments in the United States.
The Microgaming industry
Isle of Man-based software development company. Since 1994, they have been manufacturing online slots for almost 100 casinos. The company also designs casino games such as poker, blackjack, and roulette.
The Playtech company
According to its website, it is the world’s largest publicly traded online gaming software developer. Slots and table games are among the games they design.
Gaming in real-time (RTG)
Curacao-based company founded in 1998. A leading manufacturer of progressive slots, they are best known for their progressive slots. Following the United States Congress passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act in 2006, RTG is one of the few online game designers that did not develop their policy regarding American customers. They do not accept American players for themselves but let their clients decide.
